Nicole A. Francisco received their Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oregon. They also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Utah and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Oregon. Their areas of interest and expertise are U.S. politics, LGBTQ policy, social movements, identities, feminist theory, queer theory, criminal/carceral justice, and restorative justice. Nicole has presented work on tattoos and body modification, prison abolition, criminalization, intersectional feminism, and campus sexual violence. Nicole has also facilitated community workshops on homophobia & transphobia, interrupting microaggressions, and consensus decision-making. Nicole is happiest enjoying nature without a cell signal nearby.
