MA, Santa Barbara Graduate Institute; BA, Stanford University
She received her B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and her M.A. in Somatic Psychology from the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute. Formerly an observer of the behavior of nations, she now observes the behavior of humans in her capacity as a researcher, clinician, and educator. As a clinician, she works with adults, using somatic and emotion-focused therapeutic modalities. Her research focuses on the effects of neurodegenerative diseases on emotional functioning. Currently, she is investigating how neurodegenerative diseases affect sexual response using laboratory measures (psychophysiology, facial behavior, subjective emotional response) and its relationship to spousal caregiver depression and marital satisfaction. Ultimately, she strives to understand how neurobiological, social, cultural, and psychological factors influence human behavior.
