Gal Szekely, MFT, is a licensed psychotherapist, a certified Hakomi Teacher, workshop leader and business owner. Gal is passionate about working with individuals and couples on relationship issues and is the founder of The Couples Center (link, a bay area center dedicated to helping people create thriving relationships. He has a private practice in San Francisco and El Cerrito, and teaches at CIIS and Hakomi institute. His work is body-centered and incorporates mindfulness and transpersonal psychology.

Originally from Israel, Gal began his career at the tech world. His passion for psychology, spirituality and personal growth compelled him to leave this work and pursue other paths. He completed a masters in Social and Organizational Psychology and worked as a management consultant. Later he completed another Masters at CIIS university and became a psychotherapist. He has done extensive training in somatic, experiential and attachment based approaches to therapy and has an ongoing practice of meditation.

Gal sees individuals and couples in his practice in San Francisco and El Cerrito focusing on relationship issues and on work - life growth and satisfaction. Together with his wife, he leads workshops for couples called Love Made Simple (link He is particularly passionate about helping people heal and grow through using direct touch with the body.
