Chris Olsen is a teacher, facilitator, scholar, storyteller, and psychologist who has taught at the California Institute of Integral Studies, City College of San Francisco, Stanford University, and Sofia University. Chris has a wide ranging set of interests and possesses an interdisciplinary B.A. in English, Mathematics, and Philosophy, an M.A. in Teaching, a historiographic doctoral dissertation, and a Ph.D. in Psychology.
After graduating from college, Chris spent nine years living and working in Sandtown-Winchester, an inner-city neighborhood in West Baltimore. He spent four years teaching in this neighborhood's local elementary school, then co-founded the Baltimore Servant Leadership School, where he taught adult residents of Sandtown-Winchester for several years.
For the past fifteen years, Chris has been engaged in teaching and scholarship related to several topics and themes. He taught at Stanford's Social Fitness Center, where he created classes that adapted theatrical improvisation techniques to working with shy people. He co-directed and co-produced the documentary, "Wake Up! Exploring the Potential of Lucid Dreaming", and completed his doctoral dissertation on the history of lucid dreaming.
