Carol holds a doctorate from CIIS in transformative studies and an MEd from Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada. Her dissertation research offers a theoretical reframing of dementia care using the constructs of creativity and improvisation in the context of the front line nursing home care relationship. Adult education is the overarching focus of both her academic studies and professional practice as an education consultant. Carol is passionate about the visual and performing arts and their capacities for facilitating transformative dialogues in both the academic classroom and practice based settings. Her research interests embrace inter and transdisciplinarity and prioritize practice-based epistemologies, knowledge translation (KT), and stakeholder empowerment through approaches such as participatory action research and performance ethnography.
