Barnaby B. Barratt is a radical psychoanalyst with cutting-edge theories on the methodologies of personal change. He is also a recognized expert on human sexuality and in the field of somatic psychology. Dr Barratt is a practitioner of tantric meditation and has an eminent history as a human rights activist. Raised in England, and having lived in India, the United States of America, and Thailand, he currently practices in Johannesburg, South Africa. His first PhD was in Psychology and Social Relations from Harvard University and his second doctorate was from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality. For a major portion of his mid-career he held an appointment as Professor of Family Medicine, Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. Dr. Barratt’s research interests include all areas of psychodynamic, somatic and transpersonal psychology, with a special interest in human sexuality.
