Adeeba Dwanimen Deterville, PhDc is co-founder of Sankofa Cultural Institute — an African-centered educational organization. Currently a doctoral candidate in the Transformative Studies program at the California Institute of Integral Studies, she is composing a theoretical dissertation titled – Sankofa Praxis: An Africentric Meta-Theory of Sankofa and Jegnaship - as a Reclamation of Africentric Episteme, Psychology, Spiritness and Personhood: A Scholarly Personal Narrative of Alignment and Actualization. She holds a Masters in Transpersonal Studies from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Adeeba is a graduate of CIIS’ Bachelors Completion in Interdisciplinary Studies. Prior to entering the academia, she has a 20+ year career in the non-profit sector. She has also worked as a community development officer in financial services.
