Meet our Panelists

Gisselle Acevedo, M.Ed., J.D., LMFT, is a trauma-informed Marriage and Family Therapist in New York and Connecticut. She is an adjunct professor at Fairfield University, where she is committed to guiding the next generation of therapists. Her training includes Psychedelic, Internal Family Systems, and EMDR therapy. She works to provide her clients with treatment that challenges bias with compassion, creativity, and cultural humility. She identifies as a Queer Latina. Some of her past leadership roles include President and CEO of The Ackerman Institute in New York and President and CEO of Para Los Niños in Los Angeles. Prior to that she held legal and corporate positions.

Eric Bottelberghe, RN, MSN, CARN, is a cis-gendered, heteroflexible, Caucasian, able-bodied person who believes in the values of Beloved Community and the ideals of transforming opposers into friends. He has made a commitment to be reflective and challenge the biases and privileges he holds. As a Registered Nurse, Eric has worked in the diverse fields of hospice, addiction, higher education and ketamine-assisted therapy. Eric earned his master’s degree in Nursing Education at Weber State University. He also holds three separate bachelor’s degrees in Nursing, Philosophy, and Religious Studies. He is a 2021 alumnus of the CPTR program. Eric is married, has 4 children, has an unhealthy passion for collecting books he never finishes, and a hunger to be in the Utah mountains as often as he can.

Dawn DeCunha is a clinical psychologist in private practice with three decades of experience in trauma informed psychological assessment and treatment. She has worked in criminal, educational and health/rehabilitation psychology. She considers herself privileged, having been raised by parents of mixed culture, leaving her with an Eastern heart and a Western mind. When she is not gardening, she is a committed traditional Okinawan martial artist and maintains a Tai Chi practice. She graduated from the CIIS/CPTR post graduate program in 2018 and has since participated in further training at Compass Pathways and CAMH in Toronto. She participates in ongoing Health Canada funded research exploring psilocybin and treatment resistant depression, runs a busy Psychedelic Clinic providing Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, and teaches/trains emerging psychedelic psychotherapists in Psychedelic Psychotherapy. In the Spirit of Plant Medicines, she is looking forward to including a focus on Nature Based Therapy including Outdoor Journeys and Integration and developing a like-minded, community-based group of local practitioners.
