Campus Hours and Access to Student Services

August 18, 2020
As we continue to monitor the increase in COVID cases in California and guidance from both state and local officials, we regret to report that Institutes of Higher Learning (IHE) in San Francisco are now required to pause face-to-face student interactions until further notice. This means that students are no longer permitted into the building to use CIIS resources, such as Financial Aid, Business Office, Library, and study spaces. Also, ICP and ACTCM in-person courses will be virtualized.

Note about campus hours: Until further notice, both Mission and Arkansas campus will only be open to essential staff and faculty by appointment. We will update this page when student campus access can resume.

All offices below continue to be available for virtual meetings.

The Library will be pausing its in-person services, in accordance with new safety guidelines, but hope to offer limited low-contact lobby check-out services when it is possible to do so. The Library staff is still here to assist students virtually as well. Information about the latest guidelines will be found on the Library website at htps://

Academic Policies

On Friday, July 17, San Francisco was one of eight Bay Area counties added to the state's watch list due to heightened COVID-19 transmission and hospitalization rates. As a result, the city is rolling back some of its reopening guidelines. Since we had planned for the Fall semester to be mostly virtual, that continues. As of now, one ICP course and a few ACTCM courses and clinicals will have some face-to-face sections; we are hoping that by the end of August such in-person classes will be possible. If San Francisco officials reverse the current policy, we will let you know.
