MFA core faculty member Anne Bluethenthal continued her work on the Forgiveness Project with a series of ensemble performances in New York City, and led an evening-length series of dances and devised events with residents of the Tenderloin's Senator Hotel through ABD Productions' Skywatchers Project. (Engage more with work like this in Anne's Community Arts Practice course in fall 2014.) Anne's work has also been recognized recently with support from the Sam Mazza Foundation, and from ODC; she will be in residence at ODC this spring through their Sandbox Series, an award designed to encourage artistic exploration.

MFA Program Chair Carolyn Cooke's new collection of short stories, Amor and Psycho, was listed as one of the twenty-five best books of the year by Publishers Weekly.  Carolyn just returned from two weeks in residence at the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire, where she was working on a new book project.

Best wishes to Cindy Shearer, who will be on sabbatical this spring to work on her novel, and to prepare for a show she'll be curating in Danville next October entitled Landscape of Memory.  Cindy will also be preparing for her first transatlantic MFA course this summer:  CIA 7223, tracing 400 years of "The Art of Home" in London and Leeds. Many thanks go to Cindy for her unceasing work on behalf of the MFA programs for the past five years.
