Transformative Studies alum Aparna Ramaswamy (TSD, '12) was presented John Hopkins University School of Education's Excellence in Teaching Award. The award is presented by the Alumni Association to outstanding faculty based on nominations by current students.
Ramaswamy is a licensed clinical professional counselor and a visiting professor of counseling and human development at Johns Hopkins University. Her TSD dissertation focused on Natya Yoga. Read more about the award and her work below.
Alumni, Faculty and Students Honored for Excellence
Since 1992, the Alumni Association has presented the Excellence in Teaching Award to outstanding faculty, based on nominations by current students. This year's recipient was Aparna Ramaswamy, visiting assistant professor of counseling and human development, who was praised by her students as "caring, passionate, authentic and inspiring" and commended for providing "realistic, supportive and nonjudgmental guidance."
