The Integrative Health Studies program is pleased to announce that our chair Meg Jordan, PhD, RN, CWP, will be presenting work from an ongoing ethnographic study (supported by an Aetna Foundation grant) on the impact of health coaching for street-dwelling adults in San Francisco. The talk will take place on Friday, Aug 19, 2016, at the 2016 Integrative Medicine for the Underserved (IM4US) annual conference in Irvine, CA.
Dr. Jordan is part of the official 2017 census count for Department of Housing and Urban Development. She will present findings that identify core elements of integrative health/wellness coaching for underserved populations; describe the stages of intervention for health behavior change for at-risk and street-dwelling adult populations; describe the potential impact of such interventions; and examine individuals' preferences and biases as coaches engage with values-driven motivation models for behavior change.
The conference theme is "Collaborate to Create Healthy Communities." Integrative Health Studies' Advisory board member Richard McKinney, MD, is a founding leader of IM4US, a non-profit organization.
