CIIS Vice President for China Projects and Executive Director of ACTCM, Lixin Huang, is well known for her work in animal-conservation. Huang has been fighting for harsher penalties to separate legitimate and reputable Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) clinics from those that use and sell illegal animal products. ACTCM is committed to these efforts and educates it's students and patients about the dangers of these "folk-remedies" on the wildlife, environment, and patients. TIME magazine recently highlighted the struggles of animal conservation efforts in Asia and sought out Huang for her expert knowledge.
