SAN FRANCISCO -- CIIS announced the dedication of $100,000 towards a Diversity Scholarship Fund to support recruitment of a diverse student body. The fund will help create twenty new $5000 diversity scholarships to be awarded to incoming students for the 2017-2018 school year.
The scholarship is open to newly admitted, full-time students who identify with a group that has been historically underrepresented in higher education. Sixteen scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming 2017 Fall Semester with an additional four scholarships awarded in the 2018 Spring Semester.
The scholarship embraces CIIS' commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice by empowering underrepresented groups access to higher education that enhances social and political liberation.
