The Human Sexuality PhD program regularly hosts advocates and activists working on the front lines of social justice movements for women, sexual and gender minorities, and reproductive freedom.  This spring semester, Amita Swadhin, founder of Mirror Memoirs and a child sexual abuse survivor and advocate, will provide an exclusive presentation to one of our classes about her activism and advocacy. Ms. Swadhin testified against US Senator Jeff Sessions at his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, taking issue with Mr. Sessions' remarks that President Trump's grabbing women by the genitals, which the President boasted about on Access Hollywood tapes, would not, in Sessions' view, be characterized as sexual assault. The Mirror Memoirs oral history project centers on the narratives, healing, and leadership of LGBTQ survivors of color in the movement to end child sexual abuse.
