Spiritual Activism

There are many forms of activism in the world today. Some work towards the change of policies, encourage a change in how we see the world, aim to end oppressive systems, or raise awareness on social and ecological issues. Most fundamentally, activism engages the world in the possibility of positive change. This is especially true in a time when many feel that something has to change.

Spiritual activism is a form of activism that acknowledges the importance of our inner world, our inner transformation and healing. Its fundamental premise is that in order to change the world, we have to start with ourselves first. It requires an inner awareness, a deepening relationship to our inner wholeness. Here we address our dreams, our spiritual growth, our relationship to our ego, our sense of belonging, and our desire to offer healing to others that might be suffering at this time.

Learn how CIIS has been supportive of this inner journey towards wholeness, and recognizes its potential to bring positive change into the world we live in.
