Clinical Professor of Medicine UCSF, Chief, Divisions of Critical Care, Pulmonary and Allergy
Colin Feeney was born and raised in Boston, MA. He graduated from Harvard College as English major and from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. This was followed by a transitional internship at Highland Hospital in 1979 and a completed residency in Internal Medicine as Chief Resident in 1983-1984. He has been honored as Teacher of the Year in 1991, 1995, 2001, 2002. In 1999 Dr. Feeney developed a team dedicated solely to the ICU. This Internal Medicine ICU service provides intensivist consultation on all critically ill patients which shortens ICU stay and can increase survival rates.
Dr. Feeney has been Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee, Quality Assurance Committee and Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He is a member of Core Faculty, Chairs the Critical Care, Library, Continuing Medical Education and Clinical Competency Committees. He is the PI for the first IRB approved acupuncture feasibility study in the ICU at Highland Hospital. Dr. Feeney is currently the Chair of the Critical Care, Pulmonary and Allergy Divisions, the Medical Director of ICU at Highland Hospital, East Bay Site Director for Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship and Clinical Professor at USCF.
