The Human Sexuality program at CIIS is only the second accredited Human Sexuality PhD Program in the United States and the only one on the West Coast. Our critical sexuality studies program offers interdisciplinary training with an emphasis on the scholar-practitioner model in which student research explores timely problems with an applied focus. This critical emphasis allows our program to deconstruct and proactively engage systems of power to create sexually literate, nimble, and diverse-minded human sexuality professionals, academics, and thought leaders.
Graduates from our program go on to work in research, clinical settings, sexuality education, advocacy, for-profit and not-for profit organizations, independent consulting practices, and teach in community-based settings through higher education.
