Travel to Nepal for a unique study/work program in expressive arts therapy with survivors of trafficking, and their technical support staff who are trained in the Harambee Arts methodology
Under the supervision of Harambee Arts, and in partnership with Shakti Samuha, the five-day training will be led by Nepali trainers, survivors of trafficking, and their technical support staff. During the second week, we will do arts based work with various Nepali organizations including: girls in safe houses, children whose mothers are prostitutes, children living with various disabilities and hearing impaired children. The age range is 2 years to adult.
You will experience the resilience of 7 Nepali trainers, and the phenomenal healing power of the expressive arts in a spiritually rich environment.
During this two-week journey, we will stay in a charming guest-house in Boudhanath www.shechenguesthouse.com.np located on the grounds of a Tibetan Monastery, one of the holiest Buddhist sites in Kathmandu. We will also visit other sacred sites in the Kathmandu Valley, including Patan, Swayambu, Bhaktapur and the burning cremation ghats at Pashupatinath.
