In our fast-paced world, we often look for quick-fix solutions to our health challenges, not realizing that these "solutions" in fact may contribute to our problems. Even among those of us who turn to integrative medicine for solutions, we often swap out pharmaceutical pills for herbal supplements, without first taking inventory of our lives and getting clear about the root cause of and ultimate solution for our health challenges.
To achieve and sustain optimal health, we need perspective that incorporates but extends beyond our symptoms. To this end, the Slow Medicine Wheel of Health encompasses seven aspects of wellness - the physical, the mental-emotional, our relationship to others, our relationship to the natural world, our community, our relationship to the Divine, and our life's purpose work. Not only is each "spoke" individually critical to our health, but our wellness is optimized when all these spokes are tended to and working together synergistically, much as in the case of an actual wheel.
Through interactive discussions and experiential activities, Dr. Finkelstein will guide participants in taking inventory of and applying the Slow Medicine Wheel of Health to their own lives - elevating the path of healing into the adventure of a lifetime. Participants will come away knowing how to:
-Break free from the disease mindset and embrace the wellness mindset.
-Identify the pieces of the "health" puzzle.
-Develop a personalized road map for healing and wholeness.
-Practice "healthy multitasking," to simultaneously activate wellness on multiple levels.
-Leverage health challenges to reclaim passion and purpose in life.
