Dayan Qigong is an ancient Chinese system of movement that promotes health and contributes to a long life. Dayan means Wild Goose. Qigong means the practice of Qi, or life force. With daily practice, Dayan Qigong improves immune function, increases energy, flexibility and balance, and reduces stress. It is part of traditional healing in that it balances the yin and yang in our bodies, regulating the functions of our organs and bodily systems by encouraging the free flow of life force through the acupuncture meridians to open energy blockages in order to restore and maintain health.

The form originated 1,700 years ago in China and was a well-guarded secret until recent decades. It is now taught widely with tens of thousands of people practicing in China and all over the world. Dayan Qigong has been taught at Wen Wu School of Martial Arts for 25 years. &nbsp

The level 1 class  includes a flowing sequence of 64 movements, warm up exercises, instruction in Dayan Qigong style meditation and instruction in self massage of key acupuncture points.

The level 2 class activates more energy in the body. It is suitable for students who have practiced Dayan Qigong level 1-or first set-for at least one year.

Jeanne Courtney, LCSW has studied and practiced with Dayan Qigong Master Hui Liu at Wen Wu School in El Cerrito, CA, since 1999.
