True transformation begins when we understand there is no separation between the mind, body and spirit. As professionals working closely with the human mind, understanding this interdependency can radically shift the way we "see" the body, empowering us to support our clients' health and wellness in a more integrated-and therefore holistic-way. Join Corn for an intimate talk on the embodied practice of yoga and how this ancient practice can be a contemporary tool for radical healing. Corn will explore the mind-body connection, the impact our emotional life has on our health, how to "read" or map the body symbolically, and how to interpret these physiological/emotional messages as spiritual guidance meant to open us to love and acceptance, and to appreciate the interconnection that binds us all as One.
Seane Corn is an internationally celebrated yoga teacher known for her impassioned activism, unique self-expression, and inspirational style of teaching that incorporates both the physical and mystical aspects of the practice of yoga. Having been featured on Oprah.com as well as magazine covers like "Origin" and "Yoga Journal" and news programs like "The Today Show," Seane has utilized this national platform to bring awareness to global humanitarian issues. In 2007, she went on to co-found Off the Mat, Into the World, bridging yoga and activism, and has since spent time in the US, India, Cambodia, Haiti, Ecuador, Uganda and South Africa teaching yoga, providing support and aid, and providing HIV/AIDS prevention & education. As a strong and articulate voice for social change she was named the National Yoga Ambassador for YouthAIDS, and was given the “Global Green Millennium Award” in 2013 for her outreach efforts. She has several self-authored yoga DVD programs available through Gaiam, Yoga Journal and Sounds True. www.seanecorn.com
