About the Presentation
This training will focus on transference/countertransference responses in the treatment of adult trauma. Included will be a discussion of the often paradoxical nature of trauma treatment—that our efforts to help heal traumatic events often requires a revisiting of traumatic states, introducing powerful and disavowed relational experiences into the therapeutic dyad. Practical suggestions for holding the frame in the face of these challenging dynamics will be examined through a relational and attachment framework.
