About the Exhibit
The thematic arc of water circles around the elemental, the allegorical, and the metaphysical. April showers bring May flowers: the damp and darkening days of winter are the ground on which a rich spring blooms. How might we navigate change and catastrophe in our social and geographic landscapes, moving into a new season without forgetting the one before? Bay Area artists Kim Anno and Mayumi Hamanaka are joined by Michael Fadel and Sama Alshaibi, both showing new works supported by The Arts at CIIS, and Cara Romero, exhibiting photographs commissioned by the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian.
