Join Dr. Valerie Hobbs, DAOM, for an informational webinar on the insights from traditional Chinese medicine on placenta encapsulation for postpartum caregivers.

Known for centuries as a natural medicinal substance in the Chinese materia medica, home-processed placenta in capsule form has gained significant modern popularity as a routine postpartum recovery remedy. The webinar introduces one of the ways that traditional Chinese medicine can have a real impact on informing modern health trends. 

Dr. Hobbs will focus on how to apply key indications from each woman’s medical and pregnancy history along with modern recommendations for preparation will inform postpartum caregivers on practices and recommendations they can use to determine if placenta remedies are a good fit for their clients and how to best use placenta in postpartum recovery.

About the Speaker: Dr. Hobbs, who has over 40 years experience in healthcare, began her career as a direct-entry midwife who then studied Chinese medicine and has been an acupuncture practitioner for over 20 years. She was present in the conferences in the early 1980s when Raven Lang instructed North American midwives in the traditional method of placental preparation, and has cooked, encapsulated, and used placenta as medicine.
