CAN'T MAKE IT IN PERSON? CATCH THE LIVESTREAM ONLINE
A livestream of the 2019 CIIS Commencement Ceremony will be available on the CIIS Facebook page starting at 3pm the day of the event. Use the #CIISgrads19 hashtag to share your photos and posts with other grads, friends and family.
Graduates must arrive at Congregation Sherith Israel no later than 1:30 p.m. with rehearsal (mandatory) starting promptly at 1:30 p.m. As you arrive, stop at the check-in table to obtain your Graduation Name Card.
Graduates will be seated together by degree and academic program. The Ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m. Please note: there is no place to store personal belongings so only bring what you can carry on your person. We expect the Ceremony to end around 5:00 p.m.

You can download this digital announcement (also sent as an attachment in an email sent to all graduates). Announcements are useful for sending to your guests or for sharing news of your graduation with friends and family. The announcements serve as a formal memento of the event; please note to your guests that these announcements are NOT tickets to the ceremony.
We are recommending that each graduate bring no more than six (6) guests to ensure there are enough seats for everyone's guests. Guests do not need advance tickets. Doors to the synagogue will open at 2:15pm. The ceremony begins promptly at 3:00 pm and will last approximately two hours. The synagogue is wheelchair accessible. The Commencement ceremony will be particularly long for young children and going in and out of the synagogue is disruptive to the ceremony. We do not recommend bringing infants and young children to the ceremony, as child care is not available.
We have been in touch with graduates who have indicated they or their guests will require accommodations for the ceremony. If you need to request accommodations, please contact Student Affairs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
YOUR NAME & DISSERTATION TITLE
At the commencement ceremony, many students' names and for doctoral students their dissertation titles will be read aloud to the audience. A voice mailbox has been set up for any student concerned that their names may be mispronounced. Please call (415) 575-3439 and extension 3439 and state your name, title, and program so that the announcer may hear and rehearse it before the ceremony.
Information will be posted as date nears.
