Sidewalk Talk Therapy Activism Sidewalk Talk Therapy

Networking Event sponsored by the CIIS Alumni University Lecture Series and the Career Development Office.

February 15, 2017 , Noon - 1 PM, Area 5

Traci Ruble, CEO of PSYCHED Magazine and Director of Sidewalk Talk, a community listening project, will share her journey inspiring new thinking about what is possible in therapy as activism.   First, Traci started writing with some of her CIIS peers and that collaboration grew into a clinic with activism as it's foundational piece. An outcropping of the vision was Sidewalk Talk, a community listening project that has city chapters across the US, Canada, Portugal and South Africa.

She is revving up to take Sidewalk Talk on the road, listening through the middle red states in April after this divisive election. She will share her journey and what she has learned along the way about community, psychotherapy as activism, about courage and mistake-making, balancing passionate work with raising her two young sons with her partner and most of all about listening.

Traci Ruble, MA graduated from the CIIS ICP program in 2005. Before attending CIIS she worked in tech, selling software to the federal intelligence community. And before that she studied politics at UC Santa Barbara. www.psychedinsanfrancisco.com
