Phyllis Alongi, MS, NCC, LPC, ACS, is a licensed professional counselor and an approved clinical supervisor. She has many years of counseling experience with children, adolescents, and adults in both partial care and intensive outpatient settings. Phyllis earned her MS in psychological counseling from Monmouth University in 2009. She is a former educator with over 10 years of teaching experience. Phyllis has her own private practice, Exhale Healing Arts, LLC, in Brielle, NJ. Phyllis takes a holistic approach to counseling, incorporating spiritual and healing modalities such as sandplay therapy, Reiki, and acupressure. Phyllis is currently clinical director of the Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide and conducts suicide prevention training for schools, agencies, and community organizations nationally. Phyllis is frequently interviewed on the topic of suicide prevention and has been quoted in numerous publications including the New York Times, People Magazine, and Psychotherapy Networker.
