Theories and Practice of Psychotherapy: Cognitive-Behavioral and Emerging Treatments

This course offers an overview of conceptual foundations underlying classical and contemporary cognitive-behavioral approaches. Cognitive and behavioral techniques are illustrated in the context of specific clinical challenges such as depression, anxiety, and interpersonal difficulties. The course also provides an introduction to other contemporary interventions commonly referred to as "third wave therapies" such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
