This course reviews the shiatsu techniques presented in previous shiatsu courses and provides advanced training in therapeutic techniques. The course focuses on the treatment of common musculoskeletal disorders, useful treatment points, and therapeutic exercises. Students review techniques presented in the previous courses, as well as training in advanced therapeutic techniques. The class will focus on the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders caused by faulty posture. Therapeutic treatment techniques will include positional release, post-isometric relaxation, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation with the goal of improving mobility and range of motion in chronically shortened muscles and connective tissue. Patient care plans, treatment goals, and patient training using facilitated stretching techniques will be introduced as part of a holistic treatment program. Prerequisite: ACM5527. ACM5527
