Students master basic clinical skills needed to begin working with adult clients, individually and in couples, through classroom role-plays and other experiential methods. Core topics include, among others, clinical interview and interview formats, empathy and establishing rapport, basic diagnosis and development of treatment targets, history taking, and stages of change. Prerequisite: PsyD student
