Cultivating Discernment on the Spiritual Path
School of Consciousness and Transformation TSD 6252 3.00
The spiritual path is like any other road—it’s going to have its share of potholes and detours. Safe travel requires a quality rarely taught yet critically important in today’s world: discernment. In this class, we learn to cultivate the acute judgment and discrimination that will help us to live spiritual lives of intelligence, clarity, and authenticity. In learning to navigate this “labyrinth of increasing subtlety”, we will address topics as these: Is enlightenment less about fireworks and bliss and more about dismantling illusions? How do we fully integrate our practice into daily living? What is ego, and how is it effectively worked with? What is the role of the body in spiritual integration? What are the cutting edge insights about the integration of psychological and spiritual practice in Western culture? How do we navigate the complexity of the question of the spiritual teacher? What’s the best way to work with the ego and the shadow? How can we avoid the subtle traps of spiritual bypassing?
