Bioethics and the Body

School of Undergraduate Studies BIS 1332 3.00

Bioethics is a field growing in prominence. It is situated at the intersections of ethics, philosophy, feminist and postcolonial theory, and the rapidly expanding field of the biological sciences, particularly the pioneering terrains of neuroscience and biotechnology. A foundation in this new field will enable students to develop a deeper grasp of new concepts and considerations in the “hard sciences” while cultivating understanding of bioethics as a lens with which to more adequately examine the most pressing societal issues of our times.
