Scotland: Findhorn and Edinburgh Arts Festivals

SCOTLAND: Findhorn and Festival
August 3–17, 2007

August 3 – Arrival in Aberdeen, Scotland (by your own air arrangement) and overnight in Aberdeen hotel (included in cost of tour).

August 4 - Welcome breakfast and late morning departure for Findhorn (by private bus)

Week One
Findhorn’s Seven Days That Can Change Your Life (August 4 – 11)
“Experience Week” is the most effective way to engage with Findhorn—the vibrant, international, spiritual community located off the east coast of northern Scotland.
This introductory program reflects the Findhorn community’s core values of connecting ourselves with the sacred within us and throughout the natural world. This memorable experience offers rich personal-growth opportunities; including meeting others who wish to live more consciously and creatively.

Guests are introduced to the spiritual principles on which the community is based: attunement to the sacred, the practice of inner listening, interconnectedness of all life, service commitments that benefit the planet, and learned personal sharing. Discover the wealth of deeper-meaning programs that have attracted people worldwide for close to 50 years.

This unique program is an ideal opportunity to embrace many aspects of daily life here, including a four-morning commitment to one of the various community work departments (the gardens, the kitchens, homecare, or maintenance) that allows you to practice work as “love in action” and to interact with committed staff and other caring community guests. Also included: meditation, a sacred dance ad nature outings.

Week Two
Edinburgh and The Edinburgh International Festival (August 11-17)

August 11 – after breakfast, depart Findhorn by private bus for Edinburgh makes a spectacular backdrop to the world’s largest arts festival, The Edinburgh International Festival and The Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Experience the best and most exciting performances in world theatre, music, and dance. Explore the history and culture of one of the United Kingdom’s most remarkable cities as well as the pleasures of its many pubs and restaurants.

We will stay at the luxurious 4 star Carlton Hotel (www.paramount-hotels.co.uk), ideally located on the Royal Mile near the Edinburgh castle, shopping and theater districts.

Cost $2,500 includes accommodations, ground transport, all meals (Week One), all breakfasts and one dinner (Week Two), and tickets to two plays. Airfare not included. Participants should arrive in Aberdeen on August 3 and plan to depart from Edinburgh (airport transfer provided) on August 17. Accommodation is shared during first week and some limited single accommodations (with supplement fee) available during second week.
