Resiliency is innate; individuals are born with the ability to restore order in their lives.
However, resilience can be damaged due to circumstances that lead to feelings of
being drained or overwhelmed. Beth Miller discusses the 12 core-being personality
traits—learned, developed, even cultivated—that lead to successful resiliency.
What is the resilient response to change and stress? How does working in a group
setting support an increase in thriving during difficult times? Using clinical and
research experience, the issues of resilience, strength, and optimism will be presented.
Additionally, by using interactive discussions and experiential techniques, the
skills, resources, and attitudes needed to foster a person’s capacity to bounce back
from challenging times will be explored.
