The Mystery of Karma and the Journey of the Soul

Carlos Pomeda

How does karma work? How does it shape my destiny and how can I change my destiny? What lies beyond this life? What happens during death? How can I best prepare for my death? How can I overcome my fear? How can I help others to make the transition?

This workshop will address these questions and others, drawing from the wisdom of ancient texts such as the Katha Upanishad. It will provide knowledge, practices, and strategies for understanding the underlying forces that create and shape our destiny. It will also provide tools for examining the process of life and death by teaching participants how to put life into perspective, transition smoothly through the death experience, and address unresolved issues in their lives.

Carlos Pomeda, MA, originally from Madrid, received 18 years of formal yogic training as a monk of the Sarasvati order, nine of which he spent in the Siddha Yoga Ashram in India, with Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi Chidvilasananda. He has an academic background in Sanskrit from UC Berkeley and in Religious Studies from UC Santa Barbara, and is known for his love of the yoga tradition. Carlos teaches with insight and humor, and has an ability to convey the scriptural teachings in a way that is clear, meaningful, and applicable.
