Holotropic Breathwork: An Inner Journey

Patricia Meadows and Matthew Stelzner

Holotropic Breathwork™ is an experiential approach to self-exploration healing and transformation through conscious breathing created by Stanislav and Christina Grof. Integrating Eastern and Western psychological and mystical spiritual insights, this work gives the participant access to his or her inherent healing potential through nonordinary states of consciousness. Honoring the healer within, Holotropic Breathwork facilitates each person’s spontaneous experience and instinctual movement toward greater well-being, wisdom, and wholeness.

Within a safe, supportive, and reverent environment, workshop participants will work in pairs and have the opportunity to experience roles of both "sitter" and" breather." Your inner exploration will be facilitated by your own breath and supported by evocative music, focused energy-release work, mandala drawing, and group sharing. Facilitators will be present to assist as needed.

Patricia Meadows, MS, RN, RCST, is a holistic nurse counselor and a certified facilitator of Holotropic Breathwork who has been facilitating breathwork with groups and individuals for the past decade. Her integrative practice combines somatic-based trauma work with specialized prenatal and birth trauma therapy, biodynamic craniosacral therapy, energy healing, Authentic Movement, Somatic Experiencing®, and psychospiritual inquiry.

Matthew Stelzner has been a certified facilitator of Holotropic Breathwork since 1998 and is currently a senior staff member for Grof Transpersonal Training. He has led training workshops in Holotopic Breathwork, both in the United States and internationally, for the last five years.
