Financial Management
Wendy McLaughlin
People who lead a holistic lifestyle often tend to neglect
their financial matters—out of fear, aversion, or simply
because of lack of knowledge. Yet managing and planning one’s
finances for the present and the future is essential to create
balance in life. If your financial life is out of order, your
inner life typically tends to follow.
This two-part workshop is designed for the independent contractor,
artist, yoga teacher, or anyone who feels uncomfortable with
their lack of knowledge about insurance, investments, income
taxes, and retirement planning. The first two-hour session,
“Cash Management and Risk Management,” will explore
setting realistic financial goals, making a budget, and understanding
the role insurance plays in a financial plan. The second session,
“Investment Planning,” will cover different types
of investment risk, asset allocation, and diversification
within a portfolio.
