| Becoming
a Global Community
Sally Mahé
Global transformation is at hand. As one age is dying and
another is being born, people around the world are striving
to work together to become one family in service to future
generations. People are answering the call of time to recreate
themselves as a global community that sustains all creation
and sets humanity on the course of cooperation.
This workshop gives practical visionaries the tools, training,
and hands-on experience to contribute significantly to creating
a global community. Using the United Religions Initiative,
a worldwide interfaith organization, as a learning lab, participants
apply “Appreciative Inquiry,” a highly successful
methodology for positive change, and work with innovative
principles that enhance decentralized “bottom-up”
organizing. Students also examine what works and what is needed
for a healthy global community—and give their best creativity,
inspiration, and resourcefulness to it.
