| Understanding
Islam
Imam Bilal Hyde
Islam is one of the fastest-growing traditions in the United
States and in the world, yet it is still frequently misrepresented
and misunderstood in the West. Given the current world climate,
it is important to gain a deeper understanding of the religious,
cultural, and spiritual aspects of this global faith.
In this workshop, Imam Bilal Hyde will discuss the history
and teachings that gave birth to the Islamic tradition. The
workshop is designed for those interested in expanding their
understanding and appreciation of Islam and of the religion’s
critical role in today’s world. It will also provide
rare insight into the mystical aspects of Islam, giving a
greater perspective into the overall context of the religion.
