Embodying Presence

Sara Hurley

Our bodies are miracles of intelligence and creativity— doorways to the power and presence of our luminous True Nature. Alive with vital and dynamic energies, our bodies open us to our highest potentials and ground us in their development and expression. All the elements of physical experience—breath, our capacity for kinesthetic awareness and sensing, our ability to move and be moved—can bring us into direct contact with our deepest essence. They help us discover who we truly are and embody the lives we are moved to live.

In this workshop, we will explore and cultivate our experience and understanding of embodied presence by working directly with and deeply in the body. We will use movement, breath, and meditation practices from both ancient and modern movement traditions to awaken and explore the body’s energies and intelligence. Through inquiry and discussion, we will integrate our own individual experiences and learn from each other’s experiences.

Sara Hurley has been exploring the relationship between body, movement, and consciousness for more than 30 years through meditation, dance, martial arts, chi gung, and the modern innovative movement disciplines Continuum and Authentic Movement. She is a certified teacher of the Diamond Approach, a modern practice of self-realization, and works with Diamond Approach groups in both Europe and the San Francisco Bay Area.
