Anatomy
Susan Bauer
Become your own personal “lab” in this creative
and humanistic anatomy workshop that uses movement, touch,
drawing, partner work, and creative writing to explore the
bones and underlying systems of support and expression. This
embodied approach to anatomy is based on Body-Mind Centering™,
Ideokinesis, and Bartenieff Fundamentals™, and is ideal
for dancers, dance teachers, yoga teachers and practitioners,
body workers, movement artists, and those interested in deepening
their connection to their body/mind.

Bauer, MA, is a dance/somatics educator
and choreographer who has taught experiential
anatomy at San Jose State University, the University
of California at Los Angeles, Denison University,
and the Moon Ban Dek School in Thailand. Her unique
approach is based on extensive studies of Body-Mind
Centering™, Ideokinesis, and Bartenieff
Fundamentals™, as well as study with Andrea
Olsen and Caryn McHose, authors of BodyStories,
A Guide to Experiential Anatomy. Her own
book, A Body-Mind Approach to Movement Education
for Adolescents, documents her curriculum
in experiential anatomy for teens. |
