Join a lively and spirited discussion with artists, scholars, and educators who have been researching and creating art on the topic of “The Spiritual in Art.” Drawing from the fields of fine arts, art history, and expressive arts therapy, this dialogue will address pertinent questions regarding the place of spiritual discourse and expression in today’s art world.

Fariba Bogzaran, PhD, is an artist and scholar. She is the cofounder and president of the Lucid Art Foundation and an associate professor at John F. Kennedy University. 

Rose Wognum Frances, MFA, has been an artist for the past 35 years, and has exhibited internationally in museums and galleries. She has taught “Art as a Sacred Process” for numerous universities, including CIIS, where she formerly directed the Women’s Spirituality program.

Michael Grady, MFA, is an artist, the chair of the Department of Arts and Consciousness at John F. Kennedy University, and an advisory member for the Lucid Art Foundation.

Charlene Spretnak, MA, is a scholar, cultural historian, and a faculty member at California Institute of Integral Studies. She is the author of numerous books, including States of Grace, The Resurgence of the Real, and a forthcoming book on the spiritual dimension of modern and contemporary art.

Jack S. Weller, MA, is the Rudolph Schaeffer Professor of Arts and Creativity and founding director of the Expressive Arts Therapy program at California Institute of Integral Studies.
