Catherine M. Firpo, PhD, earned her doctorate in mythological studies with an emphasis in depth psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute. She lectures locally at colleges and is currently teaching in the liberal studies and art departments of the Art Institute of California at San Francisco. As an artist, writer, and educator, Firpo works with the synthesis of visual imagery and archetypal elements that are woven into patterns of individual and collective psyche. This exhibit deals with creative solutions for propelling psyche beyond the concretized icon of nuclear hell and warfare toward actions of sustainability for the biosphere and the totality of species that grace our world. Embodied in sacred marriage and reconciliation with the Self and the Bomb, humanity has the opportunity to expand its focus
toward a compassionate threshold beyond dualism, welcoming the dynamism of a world beyond war.
