Welcome—
Through art exhibits and events, Spirit in the Arts at California Institute of Integral Studies celebrates creativity and affirms the power of art as an agent of change. Spirit in the Arts offers contemporary perspectives that integrate the spiritual, psychological, and aesthetic dimensions of life.
In 2007 we find Spirit in the Arts turning its attention to the paradoxical nature of life’s realities: the beauty that exists in our relationships to each other and the earth, as well as environmental ruin and the profane devastation of war. Our spring 2007 lineup of artistic visionaries address suffering and existential concerns through book art, painting, photography, and mixed media works. This group of artists generates dialogue on such relevant topics as protest, reconciliation, and freedom—subjects that affect our local and global communities.
Art gives a voice to the unspeakable and the unimaginable in our current time of social unrest and political fragmentation. Join us this spring to reflect on the artist response to the challenges of the day.
