| Spirit
in the Arts at California
Institute of Integral Studies celebrates
creativity and the divine. Informed by Eastern
and Western artistic traditions, Spirit
in the Arts offers art exhibits, lectures,
and workshops that integrate the spiritual,
intellectual, and aesthetic aspects of the
human experience.
This fall, we are proud to showcase artwork
that demonstrates the profound ways in which
cultural perspectives can affect the creative
process. These are artists whose cultural
heritage and unique life paths inform their
art practice. The exhibits are richly varied,
and include Zen calligraphy, images from
the Arab world, Magic Realism from Colombia,
and modern expressions of the goddess Quan
Yin. The artists’ works reveal how
impermanence, suffering, and even cultural
divides can be creatively integrated with
mystery, imagination, and devotion. Click
