Professor Renee Emunah to Give Keynote Address
At National Association for Drama Therapy Conference
Renee Emunah, PhD, founder and director of the Drama Therapy Program at CIIS, will give the keynote address at the 29th annual National Association for Drama Therapy Conference in San Francisco in November 2008.
Emunah has been invited back to Japan in June 2008 to teach at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, to be followed by workshops in Tokyo. In 2006, she was a keynote speaker at a creative arts therapy conference in Hong Kong, after which she conducted trainings in both Hong Kong and Japan.
Her book, Acting For Real, has been translated into Japanese and Chinese.

Medical Anthropologist Meg Jordan, PhD, RN, to Assume Position of Program
Director of Integrative Health Studies in July 2008.
CIIS recently appointed noted medical anthropologist, author, and health
journalist Meg Jordan as the program director of its Integrative Health
Studies program. She assumes the position on July 1.

CIIS Receives Conservation Bookshelf to Preserve Special Collections and Sacred Texts
CIIS' treasured objects and collection of sacred texts will be preserved for future generations with help from a "Connecting to Collections Bookshelf," a core set of conservation books, DVDs, and online resources donated by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the primary source of federal funding of the nation's museums and libraries.

Somatics Professor Don Hanlon Johnson Publishes Memoir
This fall, CIIS Professor Don Hanlon Johnson published a memoir entitled Everyday Hopes, Utopian Dreams. Written in the aftermath of 9/11, the book uses personal stories and nostalgic vignettes from the author’s youth in the Sacramento Valley as a “lens for analyzing the major tensions that are now fragmenting our society.”

CIIS Faculty Featured in Second Edition of ReVision
The Winter 2006 issue of ReVision: A Journal of Consciousness and Transformation carries the theme “Revisioning Higher Education.” Edited by CIIS anthropology professor Matthew Bronson, this quarterly journal from Heldref Publications includes four articles by CIIS scholars on topics around integral education.
