General
Information
Admissions
CIIS Lifelong Learning maintains an open enrollment policy. We suggest, however, that students enrolling in the Certificate in Integrated Yoga Studies program have some level of yoga practice, at least some undergraduate training in the liberal arts, or professional experience in healthcare or alternative therapy. Students with no formal yoga training are strongly encouraged to enroll in Introduction to Yoga Asanas when offered.
Completion Time
From the time of enrollment, students in Integrated Yoga Studies will have three years to complete the 100 hours required to earn the Certificate. With courses offered throughout the year, however, students may be able to complete the Certificate within one year. Even for working professionals, the Certificate generally can be earned within two years.
Course Schedule
Lifelong Learning's Integrated Yoga Studies courses are
offered on a two-semester basis: fall and spring/summer.
Students wanting to plan their schedules can generally count
on courses for fall being offered mid-September through
December, and spring/summer courses being offered February
through July. See
the Fall 2003 schedule of courses, or check for updates
by calling 415.575.6175 or visiting www.ciis.edu/lifelong.
Attendance Policy
Course attendance is required to earn the Certificate in Integrated Yoga Studies or to earn CEU credit. Students are allowed no more than two excused absences during any individual course. If a student misses more than two course sessions, none of the course hours will count toward the Certificate, and no refund will be issued for that course.
Continuing Education Units
CIIS Lifelong Learning is an approved provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for California-licensed mental healthcare practitioners (MFT, LCSW) and registered nurses (RN). The exact number of CEUs per course is based on instruction hours, and no partial CEU credit will be granted.

Fees and Enrollment
Requirements
Individuals may enroll in the Certificate program at any time. There are no formal registration periods. Official enrollment in the Certificate program requires a non-refundable $125 registration fee. All Integrated Yoga Studies courses cost a flat fee of $175 each for students who are officially enrolled in the Certificate program. Please note that Certificate students are allowed to take a maximum of 110 total course hours. Once students have completed the Certificate, Integrated Yoga Studies courses can be taken at the general course fee. Certificate students are allowed three years from the date of enrollment to complete the 100 class hours necessary to earn the Certificate. If students have not completed the Certificate within that time, they will be required to re-enroll in the program and pay the $125 processing fee in order to pursue the Certificate.
Individual Integrated Yoga Studies courses may be
taken without enrolling in the Certificate program. Participants
wishing to register for individual courses may do so by
paying the applicable general course fee. Public participants
are allowed to matriculate into the Certificate program
at any time by paying the non-refundable Certificate registration
fee. Any individual Integrated Yoga Studies course hours
will then be credited toward the required 100 hours of completion.
The differences in course fees will not be refunded. Please
note that all Certificate students must complete the designated
course hours from each category.
