| THE
INTEGRAL YOGA
OF SRI AUROBINDO
Eric Weiss
The Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo is a comprehensive approach
to spiritual practice that synthesizes the insights of all
the great yogic traditions of India, of Western psychology,
and of Western evolutionary cosmology. In this class, participants
will examine Integral Yoga as a comprehensive spiritual path.
We will see how we can blend the psychological work of developing
and clarifying the ego with the work of various yogas: Hatha
Yoga, through which we come to inhabit our bodies more fully
and powerfully; Bhakti Yoga (the Yoga of Devotion), in which
we learn prayer and surrender; Karma Yoga (the Yoga of Works),
through which we participate in the universal evolution; and
Inana Yoga (the Yoga of Knowledge), in which, through contemplation
and meditation, we come to a personal experience of ourselves
as one with the Divine.
