Special Event Celebrating
the Ritual of Tea
THE WAY OF TEA
AS ZEN PRACTICE
Richard Silver
The Japanese Way of Tea is a vehicle for a collective, interactive
meditation that utilizes aesthetics and ritual to manifest
our human interconnectedness in an immediate and experiential
manner. Like all activities that are rich in expression, the
Way of Tea speaks to a wide range of people with diverse interests
in areas such as calligraphy, poetry, ceramics, cooking, history,
and Asian Studies.
Please join us as we explore Tea with an emphasis on its
Zen Buddhist aspects. After a brief lecture, Tea will
be prepared for audience volunteers (and may even be served
to attendees seated in chairs). This interactive evening will
speak to your heart as well as your mind.
